Close call captured on camera as hungry tiger shark lunges at Aussie paddleboarder
An Australian paddleboarder had captured the nail-biting moment when a tiger shark lunged at his paddleboard after becoming trapped between the predator and its prey.
Content creator Brodie Moss was paddleboarding in crystal clear waters when he spotted a sea turtle.

Moments later, he was in the middle of the hunt and almost became prey when a hungry tiger shark chased the turtle.
“There’s a tiger shark and this turtle, big showdown, and I’m in the middle of it,” he can be heard saying.
“Oh no, this is intense.”

Video footage shows the turtle frantically trying to swim away and escape the ocean predator’s clutches.
But the pair suddenly change direction, and Moss soon hovers above the shark.
“They’re under it,” he shouts. “The tiger has the tortoise underneath.”
Fear sets in when Moss realizes he’s stuck between the shark and the turtle and says, “I don’t know if I’m in the best place here.”
“Oh, I’m standing between the tiger and the tortoise.”
A few seconds later, the tiger shark jumps to Moss’ paddleboard, causing him to fall into the water while yelling, “uh oh”.
Moss picks up his phone from the ocean floor before the video ends.

“A humble reminder to myself that it’s their ocean and I’m just a visitor,” Moss wrote while sharing the images.
“I love sharks, and this little accident wasn’t the big guy’s fault,” he added when sharing the video on his social media accounts.
Moss did not clarify where the incident took place.

The adventurer, YoungBloods, shared the video with his 3.28 million YouTube subscribers and 4.1 million followers on TikTok. He quickly garnered 5.8 million views and thousands of comments from shocked users.
“If anyone wants to know what Australia is like, I’ll send them this video,” one joked.
“Nobody talks about being more concerned about his camera than looking for a meal right next to the shark,” said another.
Large white and tiger sharks are known to prey on large marine mammals such as seals, sea lions, and dolphins, as well as large fish, turtles, and seabirds.
Although ocean predators are among the shark species known to be dangerous to humans, no shark is believed to attack humans as prey, the Department of Agriculture, Water, and Environment says.
“Most shark attacks can be attributed to the shark confusing us with its normal prey,” it says.
