The footage was shared online and received criticisms from critics and support from sympathetic mothers who agreed with the screenplay.
As she juggles bags and keys, she watches Victoria struggle to open the front door of her house.
Meanwhile, her youngest son shuffles back to the front gate, down the path, and toward a busy intersection.
The footage captures the boy’s 30-second journey to the end of the road, and he is halfway down the street when Victoria finally enters the house.

But she’s only inside for a moment before realizing something is wrong and coming out of the house again.
Seeing her son, she drops her bags and sprints down the street, overtaking only yards from oncoming traffic.
Victoria shared the footage on TikTok, calling the incident “the scariest moment of my life”.
“Grateful that he is well. Children are so fast.
“I just held him and cried. I thought the gate was closed.”

Many critics were quick to blame Victoria’s lack of attention.
“No, they are not fast. You’re just not paying attention,” one user wrote.
“Okay, but I got so annoyed that you didn’t notice or turn around?” added another user.
“No, that’s too long not to look back and check on the little one, trust me,” claimed another.
But some twenty mothers who claimed to have had similar incidents quickly came to Victoria’s defense.
“So many ‘childless parents’ pretending to know,” wrote one user.
“All the perfect parent commentary… Half of these people don’t even have kids!” said another.
Victoria later said she knew she would be ashamed of the incident but shared the footage to warn other caregivers.
“I was hesitant to share this video. I knew I would get a lot of judgment,” she wrote.
“But if this video can show how easily tragedy can happen, then I’m okay with all the negative comments.”

“It wasn’t my best moment; I know how lucky I am to have him, and I didn’t miss that.”
“I love my babies more than anything in the world.
“I was there and felt my soul leave my body as I chased it.”
